Hearing on Fraudulent Letters to Congress Postponed

Posted by sbopp at October 15, 2009 11:00 AM |

Because not all of the testimony was received in time, the Congressional hearing on fraudulent letters opposing the House climate and energy bill, scheduled for this morning, was postponed.

The Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming will reschedule the hearing for next week.

The faked letters came to members of Congress on the letterheads of progressive policy organizations but were written and sent by Bonner & Associates, a Washington firm contracted by the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. Staff members from the organizations victimized by the letters are expected to testify, as well as people involved in the campaign to deliberately mislead lawmakers.

About Energy Rebellion

There is good reason for the titans of the American energy industry to be concerned. In the political war to clear the air of climate changing emissions and pursue clean energy development, environmental and public interest organizations are gaining reforms, new policy, and extraordinary momentum in and outside Washington.
