Join the International Day of Climate Action
Mark your calendars for October 24: the International Day of Climate Action. With 1,796 events planned in 141 countries – check out the list at 350.org – there’s sure to be something going on near you. (The 350 name refers to the fact that 350 parts per million is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Right now we’re up to 386 ppm.)

Some of the day’s planned actions include:
Panama: a 3.50-hour beach clean up.
India: a 350 formation action will take place at the Taj Mahal.
Egypt: 350 sailboats and windsurfers will gather on the Red Sea, emblazoned with big 350s across their sails.
Indonesia: students will protest deforestation.
Here in the US, hundreds of events are planned; photos of the events will be delivered to Senate offices, to be sure that their message gets out loud and clear even beyond the day of action. A few new actions we're really excited about: in Bellingham, Washington, an 80s theme party will mark the last time CO2 was at 350--1984.
On the Web site, you can search for actions taking place near you or find out how to plan one of your own; you can also donate money, buy a t-shirt, ask a question and find out how to follow the actions on Twitter and Facebook.
