On September 23, the Made in America Jobs Tour will arrive in Pittsburgh and citizens will rally to spur leaders to take action on creating clean energy jobs. “American workers and their families need jobs, and a clean energy economy is a sure-fire way to put our country back to work and on a path toward long-term economic prosperity,” said Maggie L. Fox, President and CEO of the Alliance for Climate Protection.

The Alliance for Climate Protection’s Repower America campaign, the United Steelworkers and the Blue Green Alliance are behind the Jobs Tour, which is a month-long campaign with more than 50 events in 22 states. The goal is to highlight how a transition to a clean energy economy will create jobs while reducing carbon emissions and breaking our dependence on foreign oil.

On September 23, doors will open at 5:30 at Point State Park in Pittsburgh for the free event. The program will feature local elected officials, as well as a roster of leaders from the labor, business and environmental communities. Musical entertainment will include Grammy Award winner Kathy Mattea and Big Head Todd & the Monsters.
