FY12 Appropriations: Attack on American's Clean Air, Clean Water and Our Ability to fight Climate Change
This page compile materials and resources on FY2012 Appropriations.
General FY2012 Resources:
As the Senate takes up routine FY2012 spending bills policy riders that would roll back important public health protections under the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act and measures that would slash funding for international climate investments are all possible threats. Earlier this year the House of Representatives passed a raft of damaging provisions attached to its spending bills. Some of these riders are designed to block action to address carbon and other air pollution and its deadly impacts. Other provisions will cut or prohibit funding for international climate investments, scientific analysis and funding used to support activities of the Global Climate Change Initiative. The House State and Foreign Operations committee passed a bill that slashes funding for critical investments in clean technology, protecting tropical forests and climate change adaptation and resilience. Now the Senate will take up the Energy and Water and State and Foreign Operations spending bills (HR 2354). The Senate should focus on investing in America’s future, not moving us backward by undermining bedrock laws or cutting funding for programs that protect our environment and our health.
See below for resources and materials on many of these anti-environmental riders in the various appropriations bills. Please contact mrisalvato@climatenetwork.org if you would like to add related materials to this page.
