Reid, Energy and Climate Advocates Tout Green Transmission Lines

Senator Reid is pushing a proposal to accelerate development of transmission lines specifically designed to unlock renewable energy sources and bring them to market. The proposal, " Federal transmission policies for renewable energy ," outlines new federal and regional roles and authorities to identify and streamline "green lines"-transmission infrastructure designed to carry renewable energy to consumers, not to expand electrical generation from fossil fuels. The proposal was developed with collaboration between renewable energy and transmission developers, clean energy and climate advocates, and private sector industry leaders.
