Stern, Jackson, Chu and LaHood Questioned on Capitol Hill This Week

Hearings on the Waxman-Markey draft begin this Tuesday. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, Energy Secretary Steven Chu and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will be witnesses for Chairman Ed Markey's (D-MA) Energy and Environment Subcommittee. These and other hearings on the Waxman-Markey draft can be viewed via webcast at the subcommittee's website. Subcommittee mark up is expected the last week in April.

Todd Stern, U.S. Special Envoy on Climate Change, will be on Capitol Hill this week for a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing. "Global Climate Change: U.S. Leadership for a New Global Agreement" will be held on Wednesday, April 22. His remarks will come shortly before the Major Economies Forum in Washington, DC, April 27-28, where the heads of state of 16 countries and the European Union will work on creating a new international agreement on climate change and energy policy.
