Press Teleconference on President Obama’s Trip to China and Climate Issues
Presidents Obama and Hu to Meet in China, Just Weeks Before Copenhagen Climate Negotiations
Clean energy and climate issues are expected to be high on the agenda of President Obama’s trip to China. The trip will likely produce agreements that advance bi-lateral cooperation and highlight a commitment to the Copenhagen negotiations for a new global climate treaty. President Obama will be in China from Nov. 15-18 and will meet with President Hu Jintao in Beijing on Nov.17.
Climate experts, with knowledge of US-China issues, from leading NGOs will host a press telephone briefing to discuss the significance of these meetings for addressing clean energy and climate change, the political context, and the implications for the upcoming negotiations in Copenhagen. Experts will also respond to breaking news and on the ground developments.
