- $250 billion by 2035 is NOT an improvement on the previous goal of $100 billion given inflation
- $250 billion does NOT require “additional” financing, which means rich countries can just count diverted funds from other development projects as part of it
- $250 billion includes debt-inducing private finance, we want public, GRANTS-BASED finance

At the heart of feminist movements lies the principle of collective liberation, which posits that the struggles for gender equality, racial justice, and environmental sustainability are intrinsically interconnected. This panel will examine feminist approaches that challenge prevailing structural systems of power, which frequently marginalize women.
This panel will highlight how an equitable distribution of power, and feminist solutions can reconfigure who is in decision-making positions and what values those decisions prioritize. This panel will share the feminist climate solutions that are essential for constructing a just and sustainable future. They will discuss the strategies that incorporate gender equity and social justice into climate action. We need to explore these perspectives to confront environmental challenges while securing all of our human rights.

First Fossil of the Day award of COP29 presented to G7

The first Fossil of the Day at COP29 in Baku has been collectively awarded to the countries of the Group of Seven: United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom. The G7 have received the award for spending the past 20 years dodging, skirting, and running away from their fiscal responsibility to pay up for their growing climate finance debt.

The recent election outcomes mark a deeply sobering moment in the fight against climate change. Despite this setback, the U.S. Climate Action Network and its member organizations will continue to fight hard for the solutions we know are urgent and necessary, in global solidarity with our international partners. President Biden can still be a powerful force for climate action at COP29.

During the online event, we will hear from frontline women leaders, health experts, and advocates who are demanding accountability from financial institutions to take action for the health of our communities, ecosystems, and the climate.

From rising cancer rates to escalating violence, the report details the numerous disproportionate health and safety risks and impacts women in all their diversity are experiencing due to fossil fuel extraction, which is also perpetuating Indigenous and human rights violations. The report highlights case studies from Black, Brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities in North America, as well as the corresponding financial institutions that are contributing to these egregious harms. The report outlines recommendations for banks to move toward accountability and a just transition.
