Chronic pain kind of crept into my life without asking
Chronic pain kind of crept into my life without asking. It started after a back injury at work, and even when the main injury healed, the pain just stayed. At first I stopped moving as much because I was scared of making it worse. That actually made everything tighter and more uncomfortable. My doctor kept saying that gentle exercises for chronic pain could help, but I didn’t believe it. Moving hurt, so why would I move more? Eventually I tried basic stretching and short walks around the block.

When I first considered this type of work, it helped a lot to review what the job entails, because it clearly outlines caregiver responsibilities. That includes assisting with personal care, preparing meals, helping with mobility, managing household tasks, and offering emotional support. Seeing a clear explanation of what’s expected made me feel more confident and prepared before starting.
