Caregiver support groups benefits and how they work

Over the past few months I’ve been helping take care of someone in my family, and I didn’t expect how mentally exhausting it could become. While reading about caregiver support groups, I came across a section about finding local support groups, and it made me think more seriously about this option. From what I understood, these groups are meant to connect people who are going through similar caregiving situations. It also mentioned that they can provide a space to talk openly and share experiences without feeling judged. Another thing I noticed is that they can help reduce stress and feelings of isolation over time. I didn’t realize there were structured ways to get this kind of support. Has anyone here actually tried joining one of these groups and found it helpful?
